Methley won the toss and decided to bat. The wicket was a good strip, fast and true. Helpful to pace whilst encouraging batsman to play their shots. Ashley Coffey and Callum Seddon both bowled very well and each were unfortunate not to take more wickets. Ashley bowled very quick and only concede 8 runs for 1 wicket in his 4 overs. The rest of the bowling squad Adam Pearson, David Kibler, James Stott and Adam Smith all bowled well each taking a wicket. This was the best team bowling performance of the season especially against the top of the league. You proved the point "Bowlers hunt in packs" The fielding complimented the bowling and for the first time this season we attacked the opposition with our bowling and our fielding. Adam Smith, Ashley Coffey, Danny Kilroy and the "fastest man in the west" Jacob Tabor, took an outstanding catch. Aaron Elliott chipped in with a neat stumping. Our batting was poor against bowlers apart from the opening pair who were very ordinary. We did not allow Methley to bowl any maidens but only two people made double figures. The rest of the team scored 25 between them. Jacob Tabor was awarded the fielding point.
